New Tonkatsu Restaurants to Open in Saitama Prefecture

Two new thick-cut tonkatsu establishments are set to open in Saitama Prefecture.

A new branch of the Wakayama-based specialty shop, ‘Atsugiri Tonkatsu Yoshihei’, is scheduled to open in Higashimatsuyama City on October 14, 2026. Located along Route 407, the restaurant will feature aged pork loin and fillet cuts. Customers ordering set meals will have all-you-can-eat access to three types of rice, two types of miso soup, cabbage, and three types of pickles.

In Kumagaya City, the existing ‘Raamen Dining Mitsumine’ is undergoing a business model transformation. It is expected to reopen in December 2026 as ‘Atsugiri Tonkatsu Mitsumine’, a specialty shop focusing on thick-cut tonkatsu and fried dishes. The new brand is part of the Mitsumine group, which has been operating for 63 years.
