New transport services announced for New Chitose Airport

New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido will see expanded transportation options starting in late 2026. Spring Airlines is increasing its flight frequency on the Sapporo/New Chitose to Shanghai/Pudong route. Beginning October 25, 2026, the airline will add Thursday and Sunday services, increasing weekly flights from two to four.

Additionally, Hokkaido Chuo Bus will renew its Sapporo city center airport bus service on December 11, 2026. The renewal includes the launch of a year-round direct service from Susukino to the airport via the Sapporo Minami IC, reducing travel time to 1 hour and 2 minutes. The total number of bus services on the Sapporo city center line will increase from 161 to 171 flights to accommodate rising passenger numbers at New Chitose Airport.
