New TV series and streaming releases arrive on major platforms

Several new television series and documentaries are scheduled for release across various streaming platforms.

On Netflix, the true crime docuseries ‘Conversations With a Killer: The Charles Manson Tapes’ explores the rise of the cult leader through prison recordings. Additionally, the comedy ‘Derek’ starring Ricky Gervais is available.

HBO and HBO Max will premiere the DC superhero series ‘Lanterns’, featuring characters Hal Jordan and John Stewart, on August 16. The period drama ‘My Brilliant Career’, set in early 1900s Australia, is also a featured release.

Other notable upcoming or returning titles include ‘In Vogue — The 90s’ on Disney+, which examines fashion history, and the second season of the sci-fi thriller ‘Dark Matter’ on Apple TV+, premiering August 28.
