New Valley Governorate marks 67th National Day with new economic vision

The New Valley Governorate is celebrating its 67th National Day, marking the anniversary of the first reconstruction convoy arriving on October 3, 1959. Governor Hanan Magdy announced that the region is transitioning into a new phase focused on building an integrated local economy.

This strategic vision moves beyond land reclamation to include manufacturing, mining, solar energy, and diversified tourism, aiming to create a sustainable desert economy. The celebrations include the inauguration of several service and educational projects, such as new schools, public parks, and initiatives to provide food commodities at reduced prices.

Additional festivities involve medical convoys, a sports marathon in Al-Kharga, and a parachute aerial display. The governor emphasized that the upcoming stage will focus on balanced development and maximizing the governorate's natural resources to meet the needs of its citizens.
