Regional transportation and mobility updates in Latin America

Various regional regulations and social initiatives regarding transportation and mobility are being implemented across Latin America.

In Colombia, several cities are enforcing 'pico y placa' traffic restrictions. In Medellín, the restriction for August 18 applies to private vehicles with plates ending in 1 and 4, and motorcycles with the first digit 1 or 4. In Bucaramanga, vehicles with plates ending in 9 and 0 are restricted. Bogotá is implementing its rotation for the week of August 17-23, noting that August 17 is a holiday with regional restrictions at city entrances.

In Argentina, the National Parks Administration has approved new mandatory identification decals for tourist transport vehicles to be used between 2027 and 2029. These decals are required for all land units providing tourist services within protected areas to facilitate inspection and control.

In Mexico, a workshop titled ‘Taxi rosa: El viaje hacia la igualdad’ is being held in Piedras Negras, Coahuila. The program aims to provide female taxi operators with tools to identify violence and promote gender equality and safe working environments.
