New video game titles Rise of the Spellbaker and Holstin announced for 2027

Several new video game titles were announced during Gamescom 2026. Kalypso Media and Realmforge Studios unveiled Rise of the Spellbaker, an action-adventure game set in the fantasy world of Khemia. The game features a unique magic system centered around baking and follows a witch attempting to uncover the mystery of a corrupting plague. It is scheduled for a 2027 release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Additionally, the Warsaw-based studio Sonka announced Holstin, a psychological survival horror game set in 1992 Eastern Poland. Published by Team17, the title will launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, with an immediate release on Xbox Game Pass. Holstin utilizes a proprietary 2D rendering technology to translate 3D geometry into pixel art, offering multiple camera perspectives including isometric, shoulder, and first-person views.
