New wastewater treatment plant operational in Drăgușenii Noi

A new wastewater treatment plant has been commissioned in the village of Drăgușenii Noi, Hîncești district, funded through the ‘European Village 2’ program. The project, which cost over 6 million lei, utilizes a biological treatment process involving three treatment lines and multiple reservoirs where microorganisms decompose waste.

Currently, 200 households are connected to the water and sewage network. The treated water is being used by local residents for garden irrigation, and the system offers potential for future large-scale agricultural water reuse.

In addition to the sanitation infrastructure, the community has received other EU-funded improvements, including the renovation of a family doctor's office via the ‘Health Without Borders’ project, which cost approximately 170,000 euros.
