New Wave Group acquires German sports manufacturer Uhlsport

The Swedish textile group New Wave Group has signed an agreement to acquire 100 percent of the shares of the German sports equipment manufacturer Uhlsport GmbH. The transaction is expected to be completed by early October.

Uhlsport, which operates the brands Uhlsport and Kempa, will remain an independent entity within the New Wave Group. The company's headquarters will stay in Balingen, and CEO Melanie Steinhilber will continue in her current role. The acquisition aims to leverage New Wave Group’s international platform to drive growth for Uhlsport’s football and handball equipment, particularly its goalkeeper gloves and Kempa brand.

This transition marks the end of an era for Günter Daiss, who has been with the company since 1998. Last year, Uhlsport reported a turnover of approximately 67 million euros.
