New wine culture awards established in Campania and Sannio

New recognitions have been established to promote wine culture and knowledge in Italy. In Falciano del Massico, the Papa family has instituted the ‘Premio Gennaro Papa’, which will hold its first ceremony on October 23, 2026, during the Falerno Wine Festival. The award honors individuals who promote the culture and knowledge of the Falerno del Massico DOC, a designation revitalized by Gennaro Papa through his research on centennial vineyards.

In Guardia Sanframondi, journalist and wine blogger Luciano Pignataro was awarded the ‘Premio Bacco’ during the fourth edition of the ‘GustaGuardia’ event. The award, created by the ‘Casa di Bacco’, aims to promote wine culture and responsible drinking as an alternative to the consumption of cocktails and hard liquors. The event also included a conference regarding viticulture, climate, and market profitability in the Sannio region.
