New York and Long Island report multiple violent crimes

Multiple violent incidents were reported across the New York metropolitan area. In Long Island, 33-year-old Daniel Escobar was arrested and charged with first-degree assault after allegedly stabbing a 65-year-old man in the neck during a dispute at the First United Methodist Church in Amityville. A judge set bail at $150,000 cash or $300,000 bond.

In New York City, several crimes occurred across the five boroughs. In Brooklyn, a 16-year-old was stabbed inside a synagogue in Borough Park, and a 59-year-old woman was murdered in Bay Ridge. Additionally, two men were found shot to death in Howard Park, and a robbery was reported at a Wendy’s in Prospect Lefferts Gardens.

Other incidents included a student being arrested with a loaded 9mm pistol at a Staten Island high school, a 17-year-old being critically injured in a stabbing in the Bronx, and a man and a woman being struck by a subway train on a Manhattan line.
