New York City: 19 injured in FDNY and MTA bus collision

Nineteen people were injured in a collision between an MTA bus and an FDNY fire truck in New York City. The crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. near Southern Boulevard and Barretto Street.

Among the injured are five firefighters and 14 civilians who were transported to area hospitals. While the injuries are serious, none are currently believed to be life-threatening. Security footage showed the bus proceeding through an intersection with a green light, while witnesses reported the fire truck entered the intersection at high speed without its siren or emergency lights activated. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
