New York City announces multiple hiring events and municipal job openings
New York City is launching several large-scale recruitment initiatives throughout November 2026. The city will host 12 massive job fairs featuring opportunities across state and municipal agencies, hospital networks, transportation departments, and emergency services. These events allow applicants to engage directly with recruiters and participate in immediate interviews for roles ranging from warehouse support to administrative and youth services positions.
Specific recruitment dates include sessions at the Melrose Library in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Staten Island. The FDNY is seeking emergency medical technicians, while NYC Health + Hospitals is recruiting security officers and nursing assistants. Additionally, the HireNewYork firm will host an event for university graduates in Manhattan.
Separately, the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) is seeking 13 full-time City Custodial Assistants to maintain municipal buildings across the five boroughs. These entry-level positions offer annual salaries between $39,970 and $42,898. Applicants for these roles must meet certain medical and physical requirements, though formal education and prior experience are not mandatory.
