New York City art fairs The Armory Show and SPRING/BREAK open

Major art fairs returned to New York City in September 2026, highlighted by The Armory Show and SPRING/BREAK.

The Armory Show opened at the Javits Center with over 240 exhibitors. This edition featured a notable focus on the Caribbean and its diasporas through various curated sections. Notable presentations included Brianna Bass’s abstract works at Red Arrow Gallery and Megan Koons’s debut with Lobster Club, which combined paintings with handwoven textiles. Other significant displays included works by André Butzer and a floral-themed presentation featuring Celia Paul.

Simultaneously, the SPRING/BREAK art show took place in Manhattan at the former CBS News building. The fair showcased diverse contemporary works, including a standout installation at Booth D14 that utilized celestial motifs to frame portraits, fabric collages, and organic sculptures.
