New York City FC and New York Red Bulls face off in Hudson River Derby

New York City FC and the New York Red Bulls are set to face each other in the Hudson River Derby at Yankee Stadium. The match carries significant weight for both teams as they compete for positions within the Major League Soccer playoff race.

New York City FC enters the derby following a 2-0 victory over Real Salt Lake, which ended a seven-game winless streak. Currently sitting eighth in the Eastern Conference, the team is looking for consistency to secure a firm playoff spot. Manager Pascal Jansen has emphasized the need for emotional control and tactical discipline to manage the high intensity of the derby.

The New York Red Bulls are positioned just two points and two places behind New York City FC in the standings. After ending a six-game winless run with a 1-0 win against Columbus Crew, the Red Bulls are seeking a second consecutive victory to move into the automatic playoff positions.
