New York City FC signs defender Tayvon Gray to extension
New York City FC has signed defender Tayvon Gray to a contract extension. The Bronx native is now committed to the club through the 2028-29 MLS season, with an additional option for the 2029-30 season.
Gray, who joined the club on a Homegrown contract in 2019, has made over 175 appearances across all competitions. During his tenure, he contributed to the team winning the 2021 MLS Cup and the 2022 Campeones Cup. Sporting director Todd Dunivant praised Gray’s defensive mentality and his role as a top right-back in the league.
In a statement, Gray expressed his pride in the club and his desire to continue winning as the team prepares for its move to Etihad Park.
