New York City police investigate separate vehicle-related incidents
Authorities in New York City are investigating two distinct incidents involving motor vehicles.
In Ozone Park, a 27-year-old motorcyclist died following a collision on Pitkin Avenue. Officials report that the individual was riding a 2019 Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound when he was struck by a BMW X3. Paramedics treated the man for severe trauma at the scene before he was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the BMW remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
In Bayside, the NYPD is seeking the public's help to identify a truck driver involved in a road rage incident on the Long Island Expressway. On August 17, a 76-year-old man was involved in a collision with a blue tractor-trailer. Following the crash, the driver allegedly grabbed the elderly man and threw him to the ground, causing minor injuries. The suspect fled the scene. A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
