New York City police seek parolee in two fatal robberies

New York City police are searching for 31-year-old Jesus Acosta, a parolee accused of two fatal armed robberies occurring within a 48-hour period in Brooklyn and the Bronx.

The first incident took place around midnight Sunday at America’s Best Wings and Pizza in Brownsville, Brooklyn. During the robbery, Acosta allegedly shot 44-year-old employee MD Yousuf in the head and wounded a 39-year-old man in the leg. Yousuf later died at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center.

The second shooting occurred around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday at a deli on East 149th Street in the Concourse section of the Bronx. A 33-year-old customer was shot in the chest during the robbery and later died at Lincoln Medical Center.

Acosta has been on parole since April following a decade-long prison sentence for a 2015 subway shooting in Harlem.
