New York City prepares for 50th TCS NYC Marathon

Final preparations are underway for the 50th anniversary of the TCS New York City Marathon. The event is expected to feature more than 60,000 runners and attract over 2 million spectators as the race travels through all five boroughs.

To ensure safety, the NYPD is deploying thousands of officers along the route from Staten Island to the Bronx. Specialized units, including canine, aviation, and bomb squads, will be active, supplemented by the use of helicopters and drones for real-time monitoring. While officials stated there are no known specific or credible threats, a heightened police presence will be visible throughout the city.

The 26.2-mile course includes significant landmarks such as the Pulaski Bridge, which serves as a challenging halfway point for participants. The race is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge and will conclude in Central Park.
