New York City prepares for Halloween parade and holiday season

New York City is preparing for several major seasonal events. The 53rd annual Village Halloween Parade is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2026. The event will take place in Greenwich Village along 6th Avenue, running from Canal Street to 15th Street. This year’s theme is ‘Body & Soul,’ focusing on the relationship between the physical and the intangible. The parade is a participatory artistic event featuring dancers, musicians, and giant puppets.

Additionally, the city transitions into the holiday season starting in late November. This period coincides with Black Friday shopping opportunities at major retailers and outlets, such as those on Fifth Avenue. The festive atmosphere includes ice skating at Rockefeller Center and Central Park, as well as various outdoor holiday markets and seasonal lighting displays.
