New York City to open Jobs NYC Center for municipal employment assistance

New York City will open the Jobs NYC Center on October 5 at 2 Lafayette Street in Manhattan to assist residents seeking municipal employment. The facility is designed to provide in-person guidance, career workshops, and information regarding civil service exam schedules and hiring requirements.

Developed by the Department of Small Business Services and the Department of Citywide Administrative Services, the center will host job fairs and recruitment events to connect candidates directly with various municipal agencies. The space also serves as a location where applicants can take required exams for specific roles.

In addition to helping new applicants, the center will provide support for current municipal employees interested in promotions or internal transfers. The Jobs NYC initiative has already supported recruitment for 47 public agencies and institutions, including the Department of Education and NYC Health + Hospitals.
