Disney and Marvel lead major entertainment event announcements

Major entertainment announcements have emerged from recent fan events, including the D23 Expo in Anaheim and the programming reveal for the 20th anniversary of New York Comic Con (NYCC).

At D23, The Walt Disney Company showcased upcoming projects such as Pixar’s first supernatural feature, ‘Ghost Market’, and confirmed that ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 will arrive in January 2027. The event also sparked discussions regarding the return of the ‘Remember… Dreams Come True’ fireworks spectacular at Disneyland and its connection to the controversial history of Splash Mountain.

ReedPop has released the 2026 NYCC schedule for the Javits Center, themed around Coney Island. The lineup features significant participation from Disney and Marvel, including panels for Marvel Television and Animation, Marvel Comics, and various anime properties like ‘One Piece’ and ‘Gundam’. Other highlights include screenings of Peacock’s ‘Crystal Lake’ and various animation showcases.

Additionally, Walt Disney World Resort has introduced new wooden counters in the EPCOT Germany Pavilion to address guest needs following recent changes to trash receptacle designs.
