New York communities celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival with mooncake events

As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, various community and commercial activities are underway in New York to celebrate the traditional holiday.

In Mineola, Long Island, Super Fl Mart has launched a large-scale mooncake promotion. The supermarket, which spans 48,000 square feet, is offering a wide variety of traditional and modern mooncake brands, including vegetarian and low-sugar options. The retailer is also providing one-stop shopping for festive family banquets, featuring seafood, meats, and high-end delicacies like abalone and bird's nest.

In Manhattan's Chinatown, the New York Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association held a community event to distribute free mooncakes to local residents. Sponsored by the Bida & Baan Law Firm, the distribution aimed to foster community spirit and holiday warmth. During the event, representatives also provided information regarding 9/11-related health compensation claims for individuals who lived or worked in affected areas of Lower Manhattan.
