New York community events and documentaries mark September 11 anniversary
Various cultural and community events are scheduled to mark the anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
The Cinema Arts Centre, in partnership with the Stony Brook WTC Health & Wellness Program, will host a screening of the documentary ‘9/11: An American Requiem’. The film utilizes oral histories to provide personal accounts from first responders, including firefighters, police officers, and paramedics. The event will include a discussion with the film’s producers and Long Island first responders.
In Manhattan, the documentary ‘9/11: Reclaiming Ground Zero’ has been released on digital platforms, detailing the town hall meetings used to plan the redevelopment of the World Trade Center site. Additionally, the documentary ‘Tribeca 25’ is set for release on Netflix on September 11, chronicling the origins of the Tribeca Film Festival and its role in the revitalization of Lower Manhattan.
To support memorial visitors, Citizens Bank will provide complimentary floral arrangements made from native New York State wildflowers at its Tribeca and Bowling Green branches on September 11.
