New York DOT Closes US 9 in Fishkill Amid Flooding

The New York State Department of Transportation shut both directions of U.S. Route 9 in Fishkill, Dutchess County, at 6:31 a.m. on July 29 due to flash flooding. The closure spans the segment between Van Wyck Lake Road and Clove Road near the former Dutchess Mall site. Officials said the pavement was damaged and will require remilling, and no reopening time has been set.

State and local authorities had warned the Hudson Valley of heightened flash‑flood risk earlier in the week, and the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office urged residents to avoid flooded roadways, citing the danger of deeper, faster‑moving water and the possibility of road damage.
