New York early voting begins October 24

Early voting for the 2026 general election in New York begins on October 24 and runs through November 1. The election cycle includes races for governor, comptroller, attorney general, and various congressional and local offices.

In the Mohawk Valley, residents in Oneida, Madison, and Herkimer counties can utilize a nine-day early voting period. The voter registration deadline is October 24, and officials advise that applications must be received by the board of elections by this date to qualify.

On Long Island, Nassau and Suffolk counties also offer nine days of early voting with varying daily hours. While voters can use any early voting site during the designated period, they must vote at their assigned polling site on Election Day, which is Tuesday, November 3.
