New York Giants' Malik Nabers' return uncertain after ACL injury
New York Giants coach John Harbaugh said the goal is for rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers to be ready for training camp and the season opener, but the timeline is unclear. Nabers tore his right ACL in September and underwent a full meniscus repair on Oct. 28, followed by a scar‑tissue removal procedure earlier this offseason. Harbaugh noted the recovery is “a hard thing… not a simple knee” and emphasized that Nabers is working daily but the exact return date is impossible to predict.
The Giants open the season at home on Sept. 13 against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. In addition to Nabers, the team has added veterans Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin III, drafted Malachi Fields, and is dealing with Darius Slayton’s sports‑hernia surgery.
Harbaugh said the team will be ready either way, but hopes Nabers can contribute when he returns.
