New York Giants may increase J. J. McCarthy's usage

New York Giants quarterback J. J. McCarthy made his team debut during a recent tie against the Washington Commanders, appearing for five snaps. While starter Jameis Winston delivered a strong performance with 326 passing yards and three touchdowns, the team may look to increase McCarthy's involvement in the future.

Head coach John Harbaugh suggested that McCarthy could serve as a “change of pace” to help the offense. Harbaugh noted that the coaching staff is searching for opportunities to utilize all available players to help win games.

NFL insider Jason La Canfora indicated that McCarthy might see more frequent usage in specific game situations. Analysts suggest that McCarthy’s ability to run could provide more multiplicity to the Giants' offense, potentially creating more running lanes and forcing defenses to account for the quarterback in the run game.
