New York Giants release Odell Beckham Jr. after three games

The New York Giants have released veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. after a brief three-game reunion. Beckham, 33, failed to record a single reception during his second stint with the franchise, appearing in only 20 offensive snaps and receiving just one target.

Head coach John Harbaugh noted that the decision was driven by the need for roster flexibility and the fact that the team was unable to integrate Beckham effectively into the offense. The Giants have prioritized other receivers, including Malik Nabers, Malachi Fields, and Darnell Mooney. To fill the vacancy, the team promoted Braxton Berrios from the practice squad to the active roster.

Beckham, a former first-round pick for the Giants and a three-time Pro Bowler, originally rose to stardom with the team between 2014 and 2018. His return to New York was intended to be a nostalgic comeback, but the lack of offensive involvement led to his abrupt departure.
