New York Giants see positive injury updates for Thomas and Carter
New York Giants offensive tackle Andrew Thomas has returned to full strength during training camp, appearing to have fully recovered from the Lisfranc surgery that ended his 2024 season. Thomas, who earned a high PFF grade last season, has been participating in full one-on-one repetitions against edge rusher Abdul Carter during the team’s West Virginia camp sessions.
Regarding Abdul Carter, head coach John Harbaugh provided positive news following the player's absence from Monday's practice. Carter, the 2025 No. 3 overall pick, missed the session due to a hand and finger injury, but Harbaugh indicated the situation is not a major concern and the player could return to practice shortly.
Carter enters his second season under a four-year, $45.2 million contract. While his rookie year included disciplinary issues that led to benchings, he finished fifth in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting and is viewed as a key player for the franchise's 2026 outlook.
