Prospect Dylan Kuefler, a 2022 sixth‑round pick who spent the 2023‑24 season in the ECHL before earning an AHL call‑up, posted a breakout year with 10 goals and 25 points in 67 AHL games. Islanders analysts consider him a strong candidate to earn a spot on the NHL roster after a healthy campaign.

In addition, the club signed 26‑year‑old forward Matias Maccelli to a one‑year, $2.25 million contract. Maccelli, a productive member of the 2019 draft class, is training in Turku, Finland, and says he feels welcomed by the organization.
