New York Islanders defeat Anaheim Ducks 3-2

The New York Islanders secured their second consecutive victory with a 3-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night. The Islanders established an early advantage by scoring three goals in the first period, courtesy of Ondrej Palat, Viktor Eklund, and Simon Holmstrom.

Ondrej Palat opened the scoring following an assist from Jean-Gabriel Pageau. Viktor Eklund doubled the lead shortly after, and Simon Holmstrom restored the two-goal cushion with a power-play goal late in the first period.

Frank Vatrano and Alex Killorn provided the scoring for Anaheim, but the Ducks were unable to overcome the early deficit. Goaltender Ilya Sorokin made 15 saves for the Islanders, while Lukas Dostal recorded 22 saves for the Ducks. The loss marks the fourth consecutive defeat for Anaheim.
