New York Jets increase use of tight end personnel in new offense

The New York Jets are increasingly utilizing tight end packages under offensive coordinator Frank Reich. During their recent victory over Tennessee, the team frequently employed 13 personnel—featuring three tight ends and one running back—a significant shift from the previous season.

Defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn highlighted the versatility of the tight end group, which includes Mason Taylor, Jeremy Ruckert, Jelani Woods, and rookie first-round pick Kenyon Sadiq. The coaching staff aims to exploit mismatches against linebackers and nickel corners by moving these players across the formation. In one red zone sequence, the team deployed four tight ends alongside fullback Andrew Beck.
