New York Jets cornerback hospitalized after collapsing during joint practice

A joint practice between the New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday was marked by medical concerns, multiple altercations, and offensive struggles.

Jets cornerback Qwan’tez Stiggers was hospitalized after briefly losing consciousness on the sideline. Head coach Aaron Glenn reported that Stiggers “actually fell out” but remained conscious and was able to talk before being treated with an IV and transported by ambulance. Stiggers has since been released and is recovering at home.

The practice also saw several heated scuffles between players from both teams. Notable incidents included a confrontation between Jets rookie David Bailey and Buccaneers tackle Luke Goedeke, as well as a fight involving Jets' Armand Membou and A’Shawn Robinson. During one melee, Goedeke reportedly threw Stiggers’ helmet downfield.

On the field, the Jets' offense struggled, particularly quarterback Geno Smith. Smith completed 10 of 16 passes during team drills, throwing two interceptions and two touchdowns while facing significant pressure from the Buccaneers' defense. The performance has raised questions regarding the team's quarterback depth as the preseason approaches.
