New York Knicks' 2026 NBA title fuels auction of Game‑4 championship ball

The New York Knicks captured their first NBA championship in more than half a century, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 107‑106 in Game 5 of the 2026 Finals after erasing a 29‑point deficit. The win ended a 50‑year title drought and marked the largest comeback in Finals history.

Sotheby’s announced a June 30 auction in New York of the official game ball used in Game 4, which the Knicks won 108‑107. The ball, described as having witnessed “one of the most improbable and decisive moments” of the series, could fetch up to three million dollars. The sale will also include jerseys worn by Victor Wembanyama (Spurs, Game 3), Jalen Brunson (Knicks, Game 1), and other NBA stars such as LeBron James, OG Anunoby and Keldon Johnson, alongside luxury NBA‑branded accessories.
