New York Knicks and Paris PSG celebrations turn violent

The New York Knicks clinched their first NBA championship in 53 years on 13 June 2026, prompting massive street celebrations that quickly erupted into riots. The victory sparked similar unrest across France, with confrontations that left at least 192 injured, two dead and over 559 arrests during the previous year's celebrations, and a repeat of vehicle arson, shop vandalism and attempted police station assaults during the latest festivities.
