New York Knicks evaluate roster depth and rookie contract status
The New York Knicks are evaluating several options to fill their remaining roster spots as training camp approaches. The team is reportedly eyeing defensive-minded veterans Drew Eubanks and John Konchar. Eubanks, a 29-year-old center, has significant NBA experience with teams including the Kings and Clippers, though he is recovering from thumb injuries sustained last season. Konchar, a guard/forward, recently became a free agent after being waived by Minnesota.
Additionally, the team is working to resolve the status of rookie Tyler Nickel. It remains unclear whether Nickel will sign a standard contract for the main roster or occupy one of the team’s three available two-way slots. Given the organization's efforts to manage the second tax apron, front office decisions regarding roster depth and contract types are expected to be finalized close to the start of training camp.
