Landry Shamet signs four‑year $24 million deal to stay with Knicks

Veteran shooting guard Landry Shamet has agreed to a four‑year contract worth $24 million to remain with the New York Knicks. The deal, reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania, extends Shamet’s tenure through the 2029‑30 season after he helped the Knicks capture the 2026 NBA championship, ending a 53‑year title drought.

Shamet, 29, posted averages of 9.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 23 minutes per game during the regular season, shooting 43.7% from the field and 39.2% from three‑point range. In the playoffs he contributed 6.0 points and 1.1 rebounds per game, shooting 45.3% overall and 47.5% on threes, including a standout performance in the Eastern Conference Finals sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Knicks view Shamet as a valuable perimeter shooter who fits under their salary‑cap constraints, allowing the team to retain depth while staying below the second‑tax apron. The contract was finalized after Shamet reportedly turned down higher offers elsewhere to stay in New York.
