New York Knicks keep iconic 2026 NBA Finals Game 4 ball after auction pull
The NBA halted the sale of the game ball used in Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals, removing it from Sotheby’s June 30 auction. The ball, which recorded OG Anunoby’s decisive tip‑in that sealed the Knicks’ 107‑106 comeback win over the San Antonio Spurs, was expected to fetch about $3 million.
A league spokesperson said, “The game ball from Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals holds significant importance to the New York Knicks, their fans, and the city, and will remain with the team as a lasting piece of franchise history.” The auction will proceed with other jerseys and memorabilia, but the historic ball will stay with the Knicks organization.
