New York Knicks lock up guard Jose Alvarado as Oklahoma City Thunder selects Aday Mara and Bennett Stirtz

The New York Knicks have re‑signed guard Jose Alvarado to a three‑year contract worth $14 million (about NT$4.5 billion), forgoing his player option for the 2026‑27 season. Alvarado, a former undrafted G‑League player, was a key defensive piece in the Knicks’ championship run and will remain on the roster under the team’s limited salary‑cap flexibility.

In the 2024 NBA Draft, the Oklahoma City Thunder used the 12th overall pick to select Michigan center Aday Mara and, after a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies, moved up to the 16th pick to acquire Iowa guard Bennett Stirtz. The Thunder view both players as adding depth to the frontcourt and backcourt, respectively, and expect them to contribute to the young core’s continued development.
