New York Knicks seek center depth amid roster changes

The New York Knicks are seeking additional roster depth at the center position following several departures. The team currently has 13 players on guaranteed standard contracts and remains approximately $3.27 million below the second tax apron. Owner James Dolan has indicated that the organization does not intend to exceed the second apron this season.

The Knicks' frontcourt underwent significant changes after Mitchell Robinson signed a three-year, $47.4 million deal with the Boston Celtics and Ariel Hukporti joined the Philadelphia 76ers. To address these vacancies, New York signed veteran Andre Drummond to a one-year minimum-salary deal to back up Karl-Anthony Towns.

New York has been linked to several young big men, including Yves Missi, Karlo Matkovic, and Moussa Diabate. While the team recently signed Moussa Cisse to an offer sheet, the Dallas Mavericks matched the deal. The Knicks are expected to bring additional big men to training camp on non-guaranteed contracts to compete for remaining roster spots.
