New York Knicks utilize extended preseason minutes for starters
New York Knicks head coach Mike Brown is utilizing extended preseason minutes to help his starters catch up following a championship run and a shortened offseason. In a recent 111-109 preseason loss to the Washington Wizards, starters Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart each recorded 13 points. Brown noted that unlike other teams that began training in July or August, the Knicks encouraged veterans to take time off to recover.
Separately, former Knicks guard Dillon Jones is making a positive impression during training camp with the Philadelphia 76ers. After the Knicks opted not to renew his two-way contract following an underwhelming Summer League, the 24-year-old joined Philadelphia on an Exhibit-10 deal. Analysts suggest that even if Jones does not secure an NBA roster spot, the 76ers may retain him through their G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats.
