New York Knicks win first NBA championship since 1973

The New York Knicks captured the NBA title, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 4‑1 in the Finals. The decisive Game 5 was won on the road, 94‑90, ending a 55‑year championship drought and giving the franchise its third league crown.

Jalen Brunson delivered a standout performance, scoring 45 points and earning Finals MVP honors. Brunson became the first 33rd overall draft pick to win a championship and be named Finals MVP. Teammates Mikail Bridge, Josh Hart and OG Anunoby also contributed significantly in the series.
