New York Latino Film Festival announces 26th edition lineup
The 26th edition of the New York Latino Film Festival (NYLFF) is scheduled to take place from September 13 to 20. The event will feature more than 125 films from nearly 20 countries, offering a week of premieres, cultural celebrations, and discussions.
The festival will open with the New York premiere of ‘Otra’, a genre-bending Latino musical directed by Armani Ortiz and produced by Tyler Perry. The film is noted for being shot in a single continuous take and features music from artists including Bad Bunny, Rosalía, and Marc Anthony.
Other featured screenings include Angelina Jolie’s ‘Without Blood’, starring Salma Hayek Pinault and Demián Bichir, and ‘Milly: Queen of Merengue’, which chronicles the life of Grammy-winning artist Milly Quezada. Festival founder Calixto Chinchilla stated that the event aims to provide opportunities for community voices to be seen, heard, and supported. The festivities will conclude with a free community block party at Quisqueya Plaza in Uptown.
