New York Liberty dominate Toronto Tempo as Jonquel Jones shines

The New York Liberty defeated the Toronto Tempo 97-82, extending their winning streak to three games. Jonquel Jones recorded 22 points and 17 rebounds, while Breanna Stewart added 19 points, including a 17‑point burst in the second half. The Liberty were without All‑Star guard Sabrina Ionescu, who is out with a back issue.

Liberty coach Chris DeMarco said the team is working to unlock another level of Jones’ game, encouraging her to attack the basket more often off the bounce. He noted, “Her shooting is a concern for other teams, so we want to get her the ability to drive with proper spacing.” Jones echoed the approach, saying the current offensive spacing allows her to be a more aggressive driver. The win positions the Liberty for upcoming challenges, including a matchup against the Indiana Fever.
