New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani's Posts Amplified by Suspected Coordinated X Accounts
An investigation published by the Jerusalem Post, citing data supplied to the World Zionist Organization by cybersecurity specialists, found dozens to hundreds of suspect accounts on X that are artificially amplifying posts from New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and his political entourage. The accounts share common traits: recent creation, incomplete profiles, and a repost rate of 96‑100% of their activity. Several accounts posted more than 500 messages a day, with examples such as “SnoopyLima13” sending 955 reposts in a single day and “CatCat2005689” reaching 864.
Analysts say the pattern suggests an automated or tightly coordinated operation designed to flood the platform and boost the visibility of the mayor’s messages through X’s algorithm. Some IP addresses were linked to New York municipal infrastructure, but no public evidence confirms that the mayor or his staff directed the activity.
