New York Mets defeat Miami Marlins behind Lindor and Soto home runs

The New York Mets secured a victory over the Miami Marlins, highlighted by early offensive dominance and a strong start from pitcher Sean Manaea. Manaea initially pitched a perfect game, retiring the first 15 batters he faced, before the Marlins broke the streak in the sixth inning.

The Mets' offense was led by home runs from Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto, with Soto hitting his 24th home run of the season. Brett Baty also contributed a home run to help build an early lead. While the Marlins attempted a comeback in the later innings, the Mets maintained their advantage to win.

This recent surge in performance has placed the Mets in a unique position regarding the upcoming MLB draft. Due to surpassing the luxury tax threshold, their first-round selection could drop 10 spots unless the pick falls within the top six of the draft lottery.
