New York Mets eye pursuit of Dodgers pitcher Tarik Skubal

The New York Mets are reportedly prepared to enter a bidding war for Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Tarik Skubal, who is set to become a free agent this offseason. Skubal, a two-time Cy Young Award winner, is viewed as a primary target for the Mets as they seek to bolster their starting rotation following a disappointing season in which they finished last in the National League East.

Reports indicate that the Mets may be willing to match any offer Skubal receives on the open market. While the Dodgers and New York Yankees possess established starting rotations, the Mets are identified as the team with the greatest need for an ace-level pitcher. The upcoming pursuit of Skubal is expected to be a competition between the Mets, Dodgers, and Yankees, centered on which organization is most willing to take the financial risk.
