Igor Shesterkin makes Rangers history with goalie goal

The NHL season has seen significant individual and team developments. New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin made history by becoming the first goaltender in franchise history to score a goal, launching the puck the length of the ice into an empty net during a 5-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

In Detroit, former captain Dylan Larkin faced intense backlash from fans during the Red Wings' home opener. Following his trade request and removal from the captaincy, Larkin was met with loud boos and chants of “sell the team” at Little Caesars Arena. Larkin has been placed on injured reserve due to an upper-body injury.

Other notable results include the Rangers securing a 2-0 shutout against the Red Wings, led by goaltender Dylan Garand, and the Boston Bruins defeating Winnipeg 4-3 in overtime. In the matchup between Vegas and Anaheim, Tomáš Hertl scored a power-play goal to help the Golden Knights secure a victory.
