New York Rangers sign Pavel Dorofeyev to seven‑year, $77 million contract
The New York Rangers completed a draft‑day trade with the Vegas Golden Knights, acquiring 25‑year‑old winger Pavel Dorofeyev. The Rangers gave up two first‑round picks, including the No. 26 overall selection, and a third‑round pick. Dorofeyev, who led Vegas with 37 goals in 2025‑26 and added 12 postseason goals, signed a seven‑year, $77 million deal. He was second in the league with 20 power‑play goals last season and is praised for his versatility, scoring from snap shots, wrist shots, backhands and slap shots. Rangers officials expect him to bolster an already elite power‑play unit and become a top‑six scorer following the departure of Artemi Panarin and Vincent Trocheck.
