New York ranks fifth in national fun and entertainment study

New York has been ranked as one of the top five states in the United States for fun, according to a study by WalletHub. The state secured the fifth position overall with a score of 58.40, performing particularly well in specific categories, ranking fourth in Entertainment & Recreation and third in Nightlife.

In the national rankings, California took the top spot, followed by Florida in second, Illinois in third, and Nevada in fourth. The WalletHub study evaluated all 50 states based on 26 different factors within the categories of Entertainment & Recreation and Nightlife, including the variety and affordability of attractions, restaurants, and recreational opportunities.

Travelers visiting the region are encouraged to plan itineraries based on personal interests—such as landmarks, food, or art—to avoid the exhaustion of over-scheduling. Key destinations include Manhattan landmarks like Central Park and Times Square, as well as natural areas such as the Adirondacks and the Hudson Valley.
